The government seized Chris' bank last night.

Hold me.

I wonder what wine pairs well with SPAM?

Boone's Farm Strawberry?

Hope it all works out with little pain to your family.

I live in the Detroit metro area if that makes you feel any better. I'll be on my ass soon too.

Two buck Chuck at Trader Joe's. So sorry to hear the news but if your hubby is anything like you, companies will be begging him to work there, if it goes that far.

Oh man. I know this isn't the most comforting thing in the world, but it's not just you-it's everyone.

We are all in the same boat, which means that we are all going to be struggling together.

Come to Irvine and hang out with me. I'll teach you how to grocery shop for your whole family on less than $60 a week. And I'm not talking about Top Ramen, either. :)

My husband is getting death threats. I feel you. Hang in there.

Here's to hoping for the best. Strange to think that the gvt stepping in could be a blessing but these are strange days!

Probably I should say something like, "When one door closes blah blah blah..." but instead I am going to go with this sucks and I am sorry.

everything will work out, but until then xxxx

Something in a box, I think.

I don't even know what to say, except I am so very sorry, and even that sounds trite . . . but it is at least true.

Linsey said...

I am so sorry! It sucks. Bad. Go back and read your last post though, the one about how Chris is awesome and always finds a way to take care of your family. You'll be okay. But in the meantime, it does suck. Hang in there.

In times of stress and strain, there's nothing - NOTHING - like being tagged for a meme by an almost total stranger!
Hope you don't mind...

One of our poor dinners was spam fried in rice-a-roni. chicken flavored, naturally, so I'd go with this, maybe:

Add a can of fruit salad for the youngin and you've got yourself a gourment $10 dinner, m'dear.

:| I hope everything works out.

I am a lurker from Kristie's site and wanted to say I think of you every day and pray for you.

I hope you are taking time out and loving on your family. God is with you, and all is well.

Best is wine someone else brings over. Any news? My DH got let go (consultant) in August and we're been trying to start our own thing -- no income yet but not so sure we made the wrong choice anyway. This is a crazy time. Stay Cheeky.

You and your lameness is wearing thin. I can't imagine that you didn't cause some kind of trouble over the holidays that's worth blogging about.

Don't be afraid any more.... just blog!

I just got you back and now I lost you again...come back Lena! We want to know if you and your family are OK! At the very least, please let us know that!

angel said...

delurking after all this time to say...please come back! i know you and your family may be going through a REALLY hard time right now, but there are so many of us thinking about you...which, now that i think about it, could sound sort of scary since you don't know me and i haven't commented before. :)

to remedy that, i should just say, i found your blog last year (late 2007?) when i was going through a really difficult time of my own, and your witty stories and willingness to share helped me get through some dark, dark days!

so, even if you don't come back anytime soon, you should just know that your internet audience is still out here when you do get ready!

hang in there!

My husband and I both work for one of the last last last standing banks. I actually asked a friend if you can buy wine with food stamps. Layoffs last week, more this week... All my coworkers have decided that we'll let our mortgages go and move to Jamaica. My husband is going to become a scuba instructor and I'll braid hair on the beach. Word.

Loved your blog.

robyn said...

Ms J, can I come and sell beads for your braids?

You can make a decent beet wine in the toilet. You'll be down one shitter for about 4 days though.
