So, maybe sometimes I occasionally speed up a mind-numbing game of Memory by sitting on a few cards. Honestly, I'm really only good for one good game. And then I want to hurt myself.
What's a few less cards in the grand scheme of parenting anyway? There's worse things I could be doing. Like eating all the pink cookies out of the Animal Parade variety pack.

Sometimes, when I read a particularly long storybook aloud, I would grasp several pages in my "page turning hand" rather than just one page so that we were able to breeze through it much more quickly. Of course, this only worked once or twice. Once they knew the storyline, there was no speeding through it.
I'm with you wordgirl. That is STILL my favorite thing to do. It's shameful I know, but Cinderella is a boring whore.
Count me in on the "turning several pages" thing too -- I was all about that back in the day.
How about having to go along with another mother's lies to her daughter.... like going out to dinner with them and her telling her 3 year old "They don't have french fries here" -- thereby eliminating any plans YOU had of ordering some. Sucks.
Oh my god, that's BRILLIANT! I wonder if my 6 year old would fall for it, and whether it would work for Pokemon cards to.
Great entry.
lmao.
Just make sure you get all matches, otherwise you might drive your kid bonkers trying to find the other 6.
hilarious
Cheating at Memory?
Disgraceful.
Save it for the big, noisy games like Sorry! and Trouble!
Oooooh. Pink cookies... Great idea. The kids don't have to know that there used to be pink cookies in there, right?
Oooooh that is smart!
Don't forget about leaving entire paragraphs out of nightime book reading.
Love this. I am the queen of card hiding to speed up the game.
I love this! What a great idea!
I always speed up games but that is because my son dawdles and draws it out!
You should see me play Candyland...
Oh is eating the pink cookies bad?
