This Girl Walks Into a Bar

Just to drive home the point that my day is incredibly nuanced and unpredictable, here is the conversation Chris and I had this morning:

Chris, eating an oatmeal bar at his computer: "Mmm. These taste great. Did you do something different?"

Me, grinning: "Really? See, that's so funny because I always just add the same base ingredients and mix up the fruits and then this time I thought 'Hey, why not add cinnamon?'. So you really like them?"

Chris, moving on to adult work: "Mm-hmm".

Me, satisfied, staring at his back: "Maybe tomorrow I'll try coconut."

Did you pick up on the part where I got excited? And then was satisfied? Did you?? Ahhh, the bliss. I think I'm slowly being pickled.

You are slowing being domesticated and I think it's time "we" meaning ME took you out and got you drunk, that will help ease the excitement over coconut, although I am excited to eat them cause they are FANTASTICAL!

Did you know that cinnamon causes gas? Don't ask why I know this...

Wait - you said excited, satisfied and nuts in the same post. I have to read this again....Oh coconut!! My bad. I have such a dirty mind ;-)

Who doesn't like a little validation every now and then. Whenever I'm downtown and get my parking stamped, I let out a clearly audible "yessssss!"Oh, and you're one day closer to owing me $20.

This is why Vi has an obsession for you! Your hot, give good comment, and you know how to bake! Are you like a stepford wife or what!?

Cinnamon is good for you!!! I forget why... yeast infections maybe? Sorry, can't remember. I get excited over the silliest things, but when something really big happens that is supposed to be REALLY EXCITING - I feel too much pressure. So, YAH for the cereal bars!!!! Wooooooooooohhhoooooooooo! Yeh!!!I had a boyfriend that once said I was only ever happy when I was eating. Obviously, he wasn't that good in bed...

Ooh... take your friends up on the offer and get out! Please, please, PLEASE! (...types Chaotic Mama as she's printing out her SON'S science project at nearly 10 p.m., night before it's due...)

You made oatmeal bars?!?!?!? From scratch?!?!?!?!?!?!?!I am humbled in your domesticated presence.Don't tell my husband. He's stuck with the bricks peddled by that old creepy Quaker dude.

That is a great feeling though! Don't down-play it! You did something you thought no one would notice, and then HE you a little warm fuzzy huh?

Well that sounds so familiar. Seems I have a similar talk almost every morning...sigh...

mmm....oatmeal bars? And don't feel bad about being domesticated. If I ever, ever, go to CA, I hope I can go out with you all. :)

All I picture is Wilford Brimley and Oatmeal cereal bars. Now that's sad! I'm sure cinammon and coconut excite him, too ;)
